Making It A Better Place (MIABP) is a Charlotte, NC, 501c3, Not for Profit organization. Our mission is to create a culture where giving back is second nature, not just a "once in a while" thing. One of the ways that we do this is through Unique Fundraising events and Thrill the World definitely fits the bill. Thrill The World is friends, families and other local residents who will join together with thousands of other people around the globe to break the World Record for the Largest Simultaneous Dance to Michael Jackson's Thriller - and to raise funds for charity. Thousands of people in cities around the world will learn the “Thriller” dance and perform it together at the same time on the day that Thrill The World takes place.
Thrill the World (TTW) started out in 2006 as a “cool idea” by Ines Markeljevic, Creator of Thrill The World, with only 62 dancers in Canada paying tribute to the King of Pop Michael Jackson. The team set the First Guinness World Record for the “Largest Thriller Dance In One Location” and since has exploded into an international dance phenomenon.
In 2007, TTW went world wide, 1,722 dancers in 52 cities on 5 continents. Setting two world records for Largest Simultaneous Thriller Dance with the World Records Academy & the Record Holders Republic. Each year Thrill the World has progressively broken the previous year's record. In October of 2009, 22,596 people from 32 different countries SIMULTANEOUSLY did the "Thriller" dance.

With Thrill the World, Making It A Better Place has found a way to Dance and Make a Difference. October 23, 2010 was the 4th annual, global Thrill the World and it was the first year that Making It A Better Place hosted an event. We hosted a small Halloween party for family and friends, with proceeds going to 3 causes - A Child’s Place, Second Harvest Food Bank and SAFE Animal Haven.
Even though we only had six dancers, through their efforts and a with the help of handful of dedicated volunteers, we raised $500 (after expenses) and
collected 200 pounds of food.
Our dancers also performed at the National Alzheimer’s Awareness Day & at the
GUTS fundraising event for Levine Children’s Hospital, both in center city Charlotte.
While we are proud of what we accomplished in 2010, it was just the beginning.
For 2011 we have really raised the bar!

Who Can Participate in Thrill The World?
Anyone and Everyone! There's no experience necessary.
You don't have to be a dancer, we will all learn the dance together. Thrill the World Charlotte is not a professional dance group but a team of fun loving people from all walks of life coming together to entertain the public, support various charities that service the needs of our communities.
We offer FREE dance classes to everyone who registers to dance for charity. You don't have to wait until next year to start learning the dance. We even have free on-line instruction videos.
